Position Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian at our gym, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility. You will ensure that all areas, including workout spaces, locker rooms, and common areas, are clean, sanitized, and presentable for our members and staff. This can include cleaning and dusting machines, mopping and vaccuuming floors, cleaning and restocking bathrooms, window and mirror cleaning, and does include some lifting (ie: putting weights away occasionally) This is a great position for anyone wanting a few extra hours a week or for someone who is retired!

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting, to maintain cleanliness in all areas of the gym.
• Clean and sanitize workout equipment, machines, and exercise mats regularly to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for members.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms and locker rooms around the gym.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and toiletries in locker rooms, bathrooms, and other areas as needed.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly, following established recycling and waste management procedures.
• Inspect facilities for any maintenance issues or safety hazards and report them to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service to members by addressing any cleanliness-related concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in custodial or janitorial roles preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact with members and staff courteously and professionally.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Schedule: Mon-Fri
• Full Time
