Position: Controller

Location: West Warwick, RI - in office position

Details: Permanent, with bonus potential

The Controller is responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The Controller will ensure that the company's accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for all monthly financial reporting

Maintain and enhance cash flow model

• Reconcile and report monthly AR

• Responsible for reporting monthly margin and sales

• Responsible for researching monthly and annual inventory variances

Maintain monthly budget

• Responsible for royalties, commissions and vendor charge backs and applicable reporting

Maintain internal reporting of cost of goods, freight charges and shipping

Assist in preparing annual budget and periodic reviews

Oversee annual audit, lending institution audits and inventory appraisals

Supervise A/P, AIR, and accounting functions

Communicates and manages expectations for quality and accuracy or work to ensure the Department provides exemplary service in a timely, efficient and professional manner

Minimum Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related major. Master's Degree preferred. CPA certification a plus

• 5 years of experience in Financial Management, preferably as a senior-level Finance or Accounting position

• Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems

• Knowledge of Federal and State financial regulations

• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections

• Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis

• Experience in consumer goods and international business a Plus

• Professional written and verbal communication skills

• Superior time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

• Maturity, poise and grace under pressure

• Strong analytical and real time judgement

• High energy, positive attitude and team orientation in all interactions

• Demonstrated track record of initiative, personal responsibility and ownership of work to meet goals in a high growth organization

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $185,000.00 per year
