Responsibilities

Summary

SMART Modular Technologies, a a wholly-owned subsidiary of SMART Global Holdings, Inc. (SGH), is looking for a Test Engineer.

The position develops, enhances, and validates production test specifications and methods. Work with team members to provide more efficient test solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Test Engineering and Manufacturing on improving current test methods such as automating repetitive tasks and streamlining/optimizing the overall process.
• Research and develop expertise on growing or emerging industry interface protocols such as NVMe, CXL, etc.
• Develop and validate test scripts for the different test platforms being used in Production.
• Analyze test data to enable data driven test and process improvement proposals.
• Validate new test methods and platforms to ensure products are optimally tested in a reliable and cost effective manner.
• Develop validation/qualification plans for tester migrations.
• Work with tester and other equipment suppliers to develop or enhance test platforms.
• Provide operator training and work instructions as required.
• Provide onsite support to local Quality and Manufacturing Engineering personnel as required.

Important Skills

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 2-3 years of experience with PCIe
• Experience with Python programming
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
• Research and develop expertise on growing or emerging industry interface protocols such as NVMe, CXL, etc. – experience on this matter is required
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Familiar with: DRAM and NAND products such as DIMMs and SSD (SATA and NVMe); SQL, C, C , C#; and Subversion (SVN)

Interactions

No direct reports. Works closely with corporate and worldwide Engineers/Engineering Managers, Field Application Engineers, and Production personnel. Interacts with equipment suppliers. Supports all product lines within SMART.
