Overview
This is an engineering position to provide support for storage related issues in hardware and software development, debug, and customer support. This is for Stratus high availability server products used in mission critical applications around the world, and potentially for also supporting SGH Penguin Computer and SMART storage offerings.
Responsibilities

• Vendor Interface to media and array storage providers, providing technical conduit for issue escalations and chairing weekly technical meetings with primary storage providers.
• Support internal system test and qualification with failure analysis and log analysis.
• Evaluate new release firmware content and manage test, rework, and release plans, for media, HBA's, switches, and arrays.
• Execute DVT including fault insertion on new storage hardware using test tools such SanBlaze disk emulator and Quarch Torridon.
• Write and maintain purchase specifications, BOMs, and ECOs for storage related options and products.
• Work with storage suppliers to keep up with roadmaps, manage sample requests.
• Lead internal Storage Technical team to drive cross-functional issues and share future plans in storage technologies for products in early development phase.
• Work with manufacturing partners in providing configuration, firmware update processes, and test procedures for storage components.
• Evaluation storage performance and investigate issues with internal driver group and external vendors to identify root cause and solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering
• 9 years' experience in disk drive technology, including HDD, SSD, NVMe and analysis techniques pulling logs and taking traces.
• Understanding storage array RAID configuration options and associated tradeoffs, as well as disk encryption technologies and key management.
• Good working knowledge with server class Windows, ESX, and Linux operating systems usage as it pertains to methods and techniques for analyzing storage related issues including review of system and driver error logs.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task across multiple issues with independent timelines.
• Collaborative team member with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Experience with storage performance testing tools and techniques.

Location
This is a hybrid position in Maynard, Massachusetts and does require onsite lab activities at least two days a week.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Maynard, MA is $121,000 - $166,000; the pay ultimately offered within the expected range may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
