The Position

Smallwoods is seeking a Chief of Staff responsible for providing strategic support and managing various aspects of operations. The Chief of Staff plays a pivotal role in driving the organization’s success by providing support to the CEO. The Chief of staff will assist the CEO in overseeing day-to-day operations, managing key projects, and serve as a crucial advisor to the CEO. With a focus on strategic planning and efficient operations, the Chief of Staff contributes to the achievement of goals, helps foster a positive work environment, and helps the CEO navigate challenges by implementing proactive solutions. 

The Person

  • Work closely with the CEO to develop, communicate, execute, and sustain corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and other communications with professionalism and discretion.
  • Conduct research, compile data, and prepare reports as requested by the CEO.
  • Assist CEO in formulating long-term objectives and goals, ensuring alignment with the organization's core values and vision.
  • Act as a key advisor to the CEO, providing insights, recommendations, and analysis on critical business decisions.
  • Manage and prioritize the CEO's schedule, communications, and correspondence.
  • Streamline processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Lead or coordinate key projects and initiatives, driving successful execution from conception to completion.
  • Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, reporting progress to the CEO.
  • Serve as a liaison between the CEO and other departments, ensuring clear communication and understanding of priorities.
  • Represent the CEO in meetings, both internal and external, as required.
  • Anticipate potential challenges or risks and assist the CEO in proactively mitigating them. 
  • Assist CEO in developing and implementing contingency plans as needed.
  • Gather, analyze, and present relevant data to support decision-making processes.
  • Draft and edit correspondence, presentations, and other communications on behalf of the CEO.

The Past Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in a senior management role.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
