Location: Smalls Discount Store, 7578 W Broad St, Henrico VA 23294

Position Hours: Saturday and Sunday - Open to Close with additional shifts possible

We are building a new schedule structure this year so please let us know what type of days/hours you are looking for on top of Saturday/Sunday (if any) and we will take that into account.

Job Overview:
As a Part Time Store Associate, we are looking for someone to work weekends with one or two other employees. During your shift, tasks would include, item pricing, stocking, cashiering, maintaining store cleanliness, shelf organization, and customer assistance of our boutique section. All staff assists with pricing items throughout the day as needed, which is very similar to pricing for a thrift store environment.

On occasion you may be asked to assist with other critical tasks related to item processing.

You should be able to effectively express ideas, share information, and actively participate in discussions. Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently price, stock and organize merchandise on shelves to enhance the shopping experience
• Skillfully operate the cash register and handle customer transactions with a friendly demeanor
• Maintain a clean and inviting store environment, ensuring a pleasant visit for all shoppers
• Accurately sort and price incoming inventory to keep our selection fresh and attractive
• Engage with customers, offering assistance, and fostering a positive shopping journey
• Experience various roles within the store to gain comprehensive knowledge of operations
• Provide valuable feedback on products, inventory, and general concerns to store management
• Demonstrate initiative both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
• Assist in E-Commerce Item Fulfillment/Processing when needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Previous experience in discount, second-hand retail environments is preferred
• Familiarity with pricing a wide range of products, particularly in thrift, second-hand shops, or flea markets
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills to connect with our customer base
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail for effective store management
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays
• Knowledge of Google Drive, Excel, and Word Documents

Position Type: Part-Time

Average Hours: 16-25 Hours a week

Starting Wage: $13.00 - $16.00/hr based on experience with consideration of pay increases at the 90 and 180 day mark based on performance.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior work experience in a retail/discount/second-hand environment preferred
• A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge

Expected Work Hours:

Saturday and Sunday from open to close.

Store hours are 10 am - 7 pm on weekdays, 11 am - 8 pm on Saturdays, and 11 am - 6 pm on Sundays.

We require that all employees are vaccinated against COVID-19.
