SmallHD is Hiring a Buyer Near Cary, NC
What will I be doing?You will be supporting Engineering, Facilities, and Manufacturing with materials procurement needs and assisting in clarifying issues with the Accounting Team. You will be a critical player in our operations by executing large-scale projects that define the bottom-line for the company.
A typical day might include the following
- Ensuring continuity of supply and participating in escalation meetings with suppliers for parts shortages to develop recovery plans.
- Managing inventory levels, schedules, and availability of items, manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules, product forecasts, and revenue targets
- Proactively providing updates to management and engineering teams on all critical supply issues
- Realizing cost savings and meeting supply base management goals
- Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Following up with suppliers to meet committed delivery dates and ensuring timely delivery.
- Providing regular feedback to suppliers to improve long term and short term performance
- Analyzing procurement data and report metrics
- Supporting and managing capital equipment, IT, and other purchase requirements as needed
- Evaluating and selecting the best value supplier
- Issuing purchase orders, change orders, and resolving invoicing issues
- Maintaining accurate data in the ERP system to ensure appropriate planning for materials
- Analyzing the predicted impact of the new supplier/product launches, product promotions, or discontinuations.
- Establishing, maintaining, reporting, and analyzing trends for variability, inventory, and back order.
- Coordinating with the fulfillment team to establish priorities for specific customer orders.
- Managing Contract Manufacturers and ensuring on time delivery
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience
- Experience with ERP / MRP Systems
- Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
- Experience with forecasting, budgets, return on investments preferred
- Experience with PCB, PCBAs, Aluminum, Plastics, Cables and packaging preferred
- Strong technical knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications preferred
- Authorized to work in the US
- Planning background preferred
- This position is based in the Cary, NC office
- Reporting to both General Manager and Divisional Supply Chain Manager
- This position is full-time
