Sloomoo Institute is a rapidly growing interactive experience based on play, #satisfying through handmade slime, tapping into the senses, and ASMR. We are an art-inspired, immersive haven of color, design, and joy. Launched in 2019, Sloomoo Institute now has 4 locations and has been an enormous success, attracting over 1 million guests and billions of media impressions. A fifth flagship will be opening in LA in the late summer/early fall. Even more, slime play is known to support stress relief as much as it does your imagination! Driven by a mission to provide a reprieve from the chaos of the world and screen addiction, the brand has close ties to mental health non-profits and a dedication to inclusion as well as supporting neurodiversity through our experience and our workforce.

Position Summary

The Head of Marketing & Strategic Partnerships will further our mission of bringing joy to the world by leading our growth efforts and communications across all areas of the brand. This senior role will work with the Co-CEOs/Founders and the leadership executives, as well as the team in all venues, to develop and grow the company’s presence and value in the industry through strategic storytelling across paid/earned/owned channels, performance marketing, agency partnerships, creative direction, building strategic brand collaborations, events, programming, branding/positioning, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the team with an omni-approach, ensuring (and often creating) processes, reporting, project management plans.

  • Overall site needs (oversee digital director and ecom with a dotted line to the ticketing platform; press updates and ongoing optimization, from SEM to SEO, and more).

  • eCommerce includes:

    • Product launches (Overarching shoots, design collaboration with slimeologist).

    • Communications (SMS, email marketing, site, content for earned/owned/paid).

    • Content planning / calendar / campaign management. 

    • Affiliate program.

    • Social media shopping.

    • Future platform connections to eCom. 

  • Content

    • Manage creators, graphic designers, agency teams, building video assets for social, advertising, site in coordination with launches, programming, cultural events, partnerships/collabs,

    • Drive the content per channel strategies (Facebook, Instagram and its many elements, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest where we are planning to build a presence (inclusive of new channels we may not be using or are not yet invented).

    • Develop and manage influencer programming (currently not doing any paid; all organic).

    • Develop content franchises.

  • Marketing strategies regarding ticket sales (in collaboration with General Manager), which may include conceiving of activations, retail events, innovative activations with connections to Procurement to ensure supplies/items needed are in place.

    • May include merchandising and venue “takeovers” with tentpole moments.

    • Oversee agency / consultant relationships (Facebook, SEO has currently involved 1M spend per year).

  • Build and manage the team with company needs.

  • Growth marketing strategies.

  • New locations, from pre-production to launch through steady state 

    • Events

    • Partnerships

    • City connections / collaborations

  • Planning for brand evolution of products as we build a brand that goes beyond slime.

  • Business development (partnerships with brands, both sponsorship-wise and organic).

  • Identify brands with whom to partner and secure relationships/agreements.

    • Oversee partnership execution.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record in strategic partnerships and business development.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the experiential and interactive entertainment industry, event production (with team support), preferably with deep experience with consumer-facing brands. Agency management experience and cross departmental coordination understanding. 
  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Proficiency in branding, positioning, driving industry and thought leadership (industry awards, events, networking), eCommerce, digital marketing and advertising strategies, and content creation across various channels, including social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Linkedin, and Pinterest.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse marketing team, including managing junior creators and external agency/consultant relationships. Highly organized is key. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and metrics to drive strategic decisions and growth.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, executives, and external partners and oversee teams, balancing both hard and soft skills.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful execution and time management.
  • Creative Thinking: Innovative mindset with a passion for creating engaging and unique marketing campaigns and content franchises.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to identify, secure, and manage strategic partnerships with brands for both sponsorship and organic growth opportunities.
