Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Patient Care Coordinator. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office and providing exceptional administrative support to our healthcare professionals. Our ideal candidate is someone who is genuinely kind, approachable and eager to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a friendly and welcoming environment
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Help to build rapport between the front office and back office
- Verify patient insurance coverage and assist with insurance claims processing
- Collect patient information and update medical records accurately
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up with patients as needed
- Assist with dental billing and coding tasks
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Perform general office duties such as filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a medical or dental office setting preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with healthcare professionals
Note: This is a paid position. Internship positions must also be compensated.
