SLAC is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) laboratory operated by Stanford University and based in Menlo Park, CA.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Under direct supervision, provide technical support to end-users for AV hardware and software.
  • Provide first line of response to requests for general AV set-ups and strikes of projection, lighting and audio systems.
  • Resolve basic end-user problems and escalate advanced issues and questions as appropriate.
  • Update daily status reports and shift handover reports if applicable.
  • Excellent client relationship management is a requirement for this position (i.e., exhibiting the ability to create an atmosphere of tension relief during high stress encounters)
  • Develop concise user instruction materials as well as detailed step by step technical documentations for IT personnel

To be successful in this position, you will bring

  • Experience with general AV set-ups and strikes of projection, lighting and audio systems.
  • The operation of audio, video, and basic lighting systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent client service.
  • Ability to apply diagnostic techniques for problem solving.
  • Ability to apply information technology standard processes, including security (this includes information security or physical security, such as asset management) to problem resolution and fixes.
  • Be onsite 5 days a week, no remote work
  • A plus- Experience in virtual platform collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, Google Meets, Google Live Stream, Zoom, Zoom Webinar or Poll Everywhere

The expected pay range for this position is $30.77 - $46.15 per hour. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
