Responsibilities

Skyward Specialty Insurance has twice been awarded as "Elite 50" internship program within the insurance industry, as selected by RISE. We are now actively seeking intern candidates for our 2024 summer program which we plan on being our best yet.

This internship will work alongside our General Liability Claims team. The successful intern will have the opportunity to shadow key members of the team, participate in meetings with claimants, brokers, and internal employees, conduct research projects, review documents, and gain deep exposure to this specialty function from a diverse and positive team. We are looking for someone with strong technical skills, good communication, and intellectual curiosity.

A successful intern will also:

• Have the opportunity to assist with real world, challenging projects that add value to the organization.
• Learn about our industry, our business, and our operations through both formal presentations and informal, on the job training.
• Build relationships and network with experts, leaders, and industry veterans willing to mentor, share knowledge, and offer career advice.
• Gain valuable, foundational experiences that will both prepare you for your profession and help inform your future career decisions.

Additional details on our program:

• The program will be 11 weeks long, from 5/20/24-8/2/24.
• The program will be on a "Hybrid" schedule with some in office days and some virtual. Location(s) are flexible wherever possible.
• The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours. We will also schedule a few after hour, fun events to promote networking and camaraderie, as circumstances allow.
• You will have an assigned mentor who will guide your project(s) and your experience with Skyward for the summer.
• The summer will end with presentations by the students to members of the company leadership team, as well as the other interns, to summarize their project(s) and learnings.

Qualifications

• Degree program in Business, Pre-Law, or similar
• Preference for those with exposure to the construction field.
• Students must be actively enrolled and on schedule to graduate after the fall semester of 2024 or the spring semester of 2025
• Cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or higher
• Students must have access to lodging in the internship location without company assistance
• Students must be permanently authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
