Operations Manager
Responsibilities
•
Oversees the Forge, Tooling/Machining, Maintenance, Shipping & Sawcutting processes to meet interested party needs while ensuring safety, effectiveness, efficiency and quality
•
Operations Manager will report to the Vice President while managing salaried direct reports
•
Provide direction and leadership consistent with company and business plan goals
•
Work closely with Executive Management to determine deliverables
•
Direct and drive the utilization of problem solving methods for related plant and customer issues
•
Direct and drive continuous improvement in areas of oversight
•
Communicating and interacting with people at all levels within the organization as well as externally with multiple customers and suppliers; establishing credibility to influence basic strategy and effective inclusion of long-range improvements; and influencing, escalating issues and ideas, and persuading cross-functional managers and positively managing conflict
•
Participates in cross-functional teams
•
Monitor, maintain, analyze, take action, report to management and communicate to staff metrics data to meet goals
•
Provides leadership to salaried direct repots by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures
•
Assists in production planning and scheduling Lead daily production meetings
•
Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices; record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements and implementing change
•
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies
•
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
•
Maintains appropriate staffing levels by assisting in the selection of employees, ensuring training requirements are met and developing personal growth opportunities
•
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers and management
•
Comply with all safety procedures and regulations
•
Comply with all IATF and internal QMS procedures and requirements
•
Ability to think clearly and react quickly to physical dangers
•
This position manages all salaried direct reports of the Forging, Maintenance, Tooling and Shipping processes and is responsible for performance management
•
The Operations Manager is regularly required to walk, talk and hear
•
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration
•
This position is very active and the employee is frequently required to bend at the waist, walk, use hands to feel or handle objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
•
The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch
