Skylight Business Solutions is Hiring a Solar Technician Near Dallas, TX

We are looking for a Manufacturing Overhaul Tech with at least 2 years of experience with Testing of Gas Producers, Power Turbines, and Reduction Gearboxes.

2nd shift position.

Duties:

You will Resolve and troubleshoot routine test facility and package issues. Acquire and review performance and vibration data required for engine acceptance. Accurately record and document test events and incidents in the Automated Test log.

  • Knowledgeable in the use and application of simple electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read Engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Contacts are typically with Test Technicians, other Metrology Technicians, and Test/Product Engineers.
  • Works under the general direction of the Test Manager, Test Coordinator or Test Engineer. Work is periodically reviewed for completeness and accuracy.
  • (1) to three (3) years of demonstrated experience in a gas turbine environment.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Perform installation and removal of gas turbines and accessories.
  • Perform green run and final performance acceptance test of gas turbines.
  • Observe, record, and review test data.
  • Document test activities and incidents in Automated Test log.
  • Support more senior Technicians in the resolution of skid or package issues.
  • Setup and use of all computerized data acquisition systems.
  • Assist Test and Product Engineering in the resolution of test discrepancies.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of test facilities.
  • Support and follow all safety and lean initiatives and requirements.
  • Mentor and support junior level Test Technicians

Minimum Qualifications

  • Background of demonstrating strong mechanical Skills
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production and team goals
  • Ability to operate shop equipment, bench tools, hand tools, inspection and test equipment (micrometers and multimeters)
  • Ability to resolve complex problems and make sound decisions
  • Willing to take initiative to improve quality, reduce turn times and minimize cost
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the overall success of the test cell team.
