Responsibilities

This is a contingent position based upon customer approval.

In your new role as a cyber security professional, you will protect our customer’s most sensitive data and complex systems from all forms of threats including cyber-attacks, insider threats, rogue network devices, and malicious software and applications. You will work with a team of like-minded professionals to share and collaborate upon your ideas to improve the cybersecurity infrastructure, architecture, and configuration deployments. The qualified candidate will become part of the Department of State (DOS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective and secure business processes. The DSCM program encompasses technical, engineering, data analytics, cyber security, management, operational, logistical and administrative support to aid and advise DOS Cyber & Technology Security (CTS) Directorate. This includes protecting a global cyber infrastructure comprising networks, systems, information, and mobile devices all while identifying and responding to cyber risks and threats. Those supporting the DSCM program strive to leverage their expert knowledge and propose creative solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges.

The Subject Matter Expert role will be based in Beltsville, MD. This role supports the Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Team.

Qualifications

The Talent You Bring with these Qualifications 

Responsibilities: 

• Coordinate with Cyber Defense Analysts to manage and administer the updating of rules, security content, and signatures for specialized cyber defense applications.
• Build, install, configure, and test dedicated cyber defense solutions.
• Perform incident resolution and root cause problem determination to ensure availability and stability of cyber defense solutions.
• Assist in assessing the impact of implementing and sustaining dedicated cyber defense infrastructure.
• Create, edit, and manage access controls on specialized cyber defense systems.
• Develop and maintain documentation for operational procedures, troubleshooting aids, and technical analysis for products, features and capabilities.
• Document procedures and execute backup and recovery activities on cyber defense solutions.

Basic Qualifications- To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• Possess CISSP, CCNA Security, CND, CySA , GSEC, Security CE, GICSP, or similar certification.
• Minimum of a Top Secret security clearance is required.
• Experience supporting the installation, configuration, capacity planning, administration, service restoration, optimization, and operational maintenance of cyber defense solutions.

Applicants selected for this position will require an active Top Secretclearance, and background screening. Applicants selected for a security clearance will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirement for access to classified information.
