Job Summary:
Sky Islands High School is currently seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to fill the position of Math Teacher. This unique opportunity allows for the teaching of various math subjects, including Algebra I & II, Geometry, Consumer Math, and potentially Pre-calculus. We are looking for an innovative educator who can inspire students by bringing mathematical concepts to life through creative teaching methods and real-world applications.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
· Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, including hands-on activities, group work, technology integration, and whole-class discussions to enhance student understanding and engagement.
· Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate actively in their learning.
· Assess student progress regularly through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods and provide timely feedback to promote growth.
· Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
· Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior, in accordance with school policies.
· Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships and support student success.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or related field (master’s degree preferred).
· Valid teaching certification/license in Mathematics (or eligible for certification/license).
· Prior teaching experience at the high school level preferred.
· Strong knowledge of math content and pedagogy, with the ability to teach a range of subjects effectively.
· Passion for education and a commitment to student-centered learning.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
· Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
· Fingerprint Clearance Card
· Ability to pass a Background Check Clearance
Salary: Based on educational experience
