Facilities Safety/ Maintenance Specialist

General Description:

Job Description and Requirements:

The Facilities Safety/Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining the facilities to include some minor repairs, ensure facility safety measures taken, and verify that OSHA standards are being upheld. This is a full-time time, on-site position with the possibility of off hour call ins for emergency repairs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining all facilities owned by SVHC in regard to repairs and/or upkeep.
  • Ensure company vehicles are up to date regarding maintenance etc.
  • Install appliances, equipment and assemble projects as needed.
  • Appropriate seasonal property upkeep to include gardening, shoveling snow, and salting of walkways at all facilities.
  • Conducts routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
  • Maintain, service clean and properly store equipment, tools, and machines.
  • Check functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm, fire extinguisher).
  • Inspect, report, and repair all damage to buildings or property.
  • Participate in different projects and tasks assigned by Supervisor/manager.
  • Work with House Manager’s regarding property issues.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards for health and safety regulations.
  • Act as the point of contact with all outside contractors in regard to obtaining quotes, scheduling, and manage progression of project and ensure completion is timely.
  • Communicate to the Administrator any issues that may cause operational interruption with any of the facilities.
  • Conducts routine safety audits and checks.
  • Organizes and maintains required record keeping of site safety activities and actions.
  • Conducts accident/incident investigations as needed. Identifies root cause(s) and recommends corrective measures to be taken.
  • Perform other related duties and activities as required.

Skills and Experience:

· Knowledge of OSHA requirements.

· Ability to recognize hazardous situations and suggest/implement corrective measures.

· Ability to successfully implement effective safety initiatives that reduce accidents/incidents and heighten safety awareness among employees.

  • 1 years of experience in maintenance, electrical, plumbing and or construction.

· Comfortable with hand and electrical tools.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Manual dexterity and physical stamina

· To comply with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973’s essential physical, mental, and environmental requirements, employees must be able to successfully perform all functions of their job with minimal supervision.

· Must be vaccinated against COVID-19. You must have received your first dose of COVID-19 vaccination by your first day of employment, and for two-dose COVID-19 vaccines, you must receive your second dose within thirty days of your first day of employment.

· Annual flu vaccinations are also required.

Salary

$50,000-$60,000 (DOE)

Work Hours

Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Hours may vary with additional work hours as needed)
