Skilled Trades Partners is Hiring an Estimator Near Saco, ME

Looking for an Estimator for a perm role in Saco Maine.

This position prepares proposals and estimates for Fire stopping, Door Installation, and Door Repair projects. This individual will review requests for proposals (RFPs), specifications, and plans to determine the scope of work, materials, compliance factors, and other conditions required to understand the commitment and costs associated with each project fully. This individual is responsible for preparing all required proposal elements and soliciting approval from upper management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weekly strategy and development of proper channels for new estimating opportunities (business development)
  • Review project plans and specifications for accurate bid assessments and estimates
  • Prepare a complete listing of all costs, including labor, materials, equipment, compliance, and any other special requirements necessary per project.
  • Cross-team communication and Timely and accurate documentation of current and past company projects.
  • Obtaining current/updated subcontractor and supplier information for accurate pricing
  • Pricing of change orders and project impacts
  • Assistance with the project's pre-qualification documentation and other project requirements.

Requirements for consideration

  • 7:30-4:00 is the typical shift, with occasional work outside of those hours depending on needs,
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally
  • 5 years of field experience 2 focused on estimating. Or a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or another degree with some equivalent estimating experience.
  • Strong team-oriented work ethic.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 101: The Life Safety Code and IBC code/regulations
  • Working knowledge of firestopping applications, systems, and materials
  • Proficient reading of job plans and blueprints for design plans and specifications resulting in pricing differences.
