**Job Title:** CDM Dietary Manager
**Location:** Skilled Nursing Facility, South Carolina
**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to join our team at a reputable skilled nursing facility in South Carolina. The CDM Dietary Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of dietary operations within the facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing nutritionally balanced meals to residents.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Plan, organize, and supervise the preparation and service of meals to residents in accordance with prescribed diets and nutritional requirements.
2. Develop and maintain dietary policies and procedures that comply with state and federal regulations, including those set forth by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
3. Coordinate with healthcare professionals, including dietitians and physicians, to ensure that resident dietary needs are met and that individualized care plans are followed.
4. Manage food inventory, ordering, and budgeting to maintain cost-effectiveness while meeting quality standards.
5. Train and supervise dietary staff, including cooks, kitchen aides, and servers, to ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed.
6. Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and dining areas to ensure cleanliness, compliance with health regulations, and overall quality control.
7. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to assess resident nutritional status, participate in care planning meetings, and provide education and counseling to residents and their families as needed.
8. Maintain accurate records of dietary assessments, menu planning, food production, and other relevant documentation required for regulatory compliance.
9. Stay current with developments in nutrition, dietary trends, and industry best practices through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
10. Foster a positive and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and professional growth among dietary staff.
**Qualifications:**
1. Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification required.
2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in dietary management, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
3. Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing dietary services in healthcare facilities, including CMS regulations and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
4. Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with residents, staff, and external stakeholders.
5. Proficiency in menu planning, food production, and kitchen operations, including knowledge of therapeutic diets and special dietary considerations.
6. Familiarity with computerized dietary management systems and software applications for menu planning, nutritional analysis, and recordkeeping.
7. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
8. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
