Skaneateles Country Club is Hiring a Lead Bartender (Tipped Position) Near Skaneateles, NY

Job Summary:
The lead bartender in addition to the essential duties and responsibilities of being a bartender they will also be responsible for promoting and growing the business, training staff, upholding service standards and ensuring that patrons are receiving excellent drinks, food, and service.
You will also manage inventory and resources, plan promotional events, ensure that quality and safety controls are followed, update vendor contracts, order and receive product, and set business objectives to increase profits and maximize member satisfaction. You should also be able to work with diverse personalities and diffuse tense situations.
In order to succeed as a bar manager/lead bartender, you should be observant and have the ability to think critically and efficiently. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem-solving, observation, and interpersonal skills.
This person must be flexible in meeting the varying scheduling needs of the Club and may be required to work additional hours than scheduled, if necessary.
The Bartenders will be neat and well-groomed in accordance to Skaneateles Country Club’s Staff Member standards. It is the responsibility of all staff to provide a warm, friendly environment creating a world class experience for our members and guests. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who can interact with members at a high-level

Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain Cleanliness of Bar, Dining Room, Lounge, Side Stations, Kitchen, Banquet Rooms

2. Drink Preparation

4. Opening Checklist

5. Closing Checklist

6. Requisitions

7. Complete closing of the Clubhouse

8. Stock Juice, Mixers, Soft Drinks

9. Assist with ordering from vendors

10. Stock Beer, Liquor, Wine

11. Stock Ice

12. Set up Liquor

13. Stock Paper Supplies

14. Prepare Snacks

15. Cut Garnishes

16. Prepare the Mixes

17. Use the Blender

18. Issue Wine / Champagne Bottles

19. Roll Silverware

20. Stock Glassware, China, Flatware

21. Menu Knowledge

22. Attend and Participate in Pre-Meal Meeting

23. To arrive well-groomed and on-time and dressed in the appropriate uniform.

24. Provide Lunch / Dinner Service following the sequence of service

25. Greeting Members and Guests with a positive, friendly, efficient manner while having excellent listening skills and an eagerness to provide excellent service.

26. Rechecking on Guests – 2 minute follow up.

27. Process Member charges accurately and efficiently

28. Check out with Manager or Supervisor

Requirements:
- Minimum one year of bartending experience is required, preferably in a Private Club
Knowledge of a POS system is preferred
Wine Knowledge, Proficient in Wine Service
Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 6-8 hours)
Minimum Age 21

EDUCATION

A High School diploma is preferred, but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The ability to speak English is necessary to converse with our members and guests.

Proper diction is valued to maintain the ambiance of high level service to our members. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, members and the general public is important.

REASONING ABILITY

It is necessary to have the ability to solve practical problems that may arise. Our staff members must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
