Job Summary: We are looking for energetic and responsible individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors. As a camp counselor, you will play a key role in creating a positive and memorable experience for campers. You will lead and participate in a variety of activities, ensure the safety and well-being of campers, and serve as a positive role model. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy working with children and want to make a difference in their lives.
Dates: 6/25/24 (Tues.) ~ 8/2/24 (Fri.) (27 days)
(no camp on 6/24, 7/4, and 7/5)
Location: Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest
150 Knickerbocker Road, Demarest, New Jersey 07627
Full Time: Hours: 9AM ~ 3PM (Monday-Friday)
Pay: starting pay $2500
*Teaching Counselor : Pay : starting pay $2700
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree
- Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Responsibilities:
- Assist the camp director in planning, organizing, and implementing the camp program
- Supervise and support camp staff, including counselors, instructors, and other personnel
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers, staff, and visitors
- Oversee the implementation of camp policies and procedures
- Manage camp supplies, equipment, and facilities
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, and incident reports
- Assist with the set-up, clean-up, and organization of camp materials and supplies
- Help coordinate special events, field trips, and other camp activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director
*Teaching Counselor’s other duties
- Ability to follow schedule and teach extracurricular activities
- Science Lab, Arts & Crafts, Computer Lab, Dessert-Making
