JOB SUMMARY

Sizer School, located in Fitchburg, MA, is accepting applications for Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. Ideal candidate shall have at least 3 years experience in the high school sport as an assistant or head coach. Coach will be responsible for the supervision of all players; the development of all players. Organize and implement daily practices. Develop game strategies. Verify the academic eligibility and medical clearance of all players. Organize, distribute, and be responsible for all related uniforms and equipment associated with the program. Organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive athletic program in the assigned sport that is designed to meet the needs and interests of the school community. Provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of athletic participation and academic achievement. Must demonstrate a high degree of ethics, professionalism, and be a positive role model for all students.

Responsibilities/Requirements

1. Comply with the rules and regulations of the Sizer School, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and Worcester County Athletic Conference (WCAC).

2. Communicate to all participants the policies of the team and school.

3. CPR certified prior to first practice. Complete/submit CORI form and other procedures required by Sizer School. Complete online concussion course

4. Provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship; compile and maintain accurate individual and team performance records.

5. Ensure that adequate supervision is provided for all students involved in the sport to and from the playing site.

6. Instruct participants in safety procedures and in the need to report injuries to the coach and/or trainer/nurse immediately; implement appropriate procedures for handling injury situations; ensure the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards at all times.

7. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Pay: $2,300.00 - $2,500.00 per year
