SiTime is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Director of Customer Engineering to lead critical customer facing initiatives driven by the Customer engineering team. This position will oversee the definition of class-leading timing solutions, management of customer engagements and driving success through effective customer engagement and project delivery. The candidate will handle engaging with the broad SiTime customer base, understanding the system timing requirements and defining technical timing solutions factoring in competitive positioning and technology trends. You will contribute to various technical customer support activities, including collateral generation, application-based lab measurements, and leading debug effort in customer systems. Responsibilities also may include contributing to internal infrastructure projects.

The candidate will have broad technical knowledge and in-depth experience in system architecture, timing and synchronization requirements for a variety of applications in telecommunication and automotive markets. The job involves analyzing customer timing challenges and leveraging SiTime’s timing portfolio of frequency control products such TCXOs, OCXOs and Clock products including Jitter Cleaner, Network Synchronizers and IEEE1588 reference platforms. 

Responsibilities:

• Analyze the respective application segment, understand technology and industry trends to propose and pivot product strategy to address the customers’ needs
• Leverage the broad SiTime clocking portfolio to deliver system timing solutions which address customer requirements beyond individual components
• Develop internal system level reference platforms and assess system level performance of SiTime products in such applications as SyncE, 5G fronthaul equipment, 5G Radio Units, GNSS-based timing references etc.
• Support integration of SiTime products in end customer applications, including diagnosis and resolution of customer signal integrity and other performance impairments issues 
• Deliver to team commitments and drive accountability to program milestones and objectives
• Lead cross-functional issue resolution and remove roadblocks internally and externally
• Works with cross-functional stakeholders across product teams in the organization to influence technology roadmaps and ecosystem partnerships
• System and component measurements using measurement equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, phase noise analyzers, frequency counters, specialized SyncE and IEE1588 test-sets.

Minimum Qualifications:

• MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 12 years of relevant industry experience
• Direct engineering experience in either design or support of semiconductor or timing products, or systems hardware design
• Hands-on experience with electronics measurement equipment, such as high-speed digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters
• Excellent interpersonal communication and written skills
• Highly driven and self-motivated along with leadership to build strong relationship with internal and external customers 
• Visionary with the ability to see projects on a bigger scale that extends past short-term deliverables
• Experience in working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
