SitelogIQ is Hiring a Construction Estimator Near Hopkins, MN

Our Construction Estimator will work out of our Midwest division and will work closely with lead Estimators, Engineers, Project Managers, and Architects during the development process to establish rough order magnitude budgets for project scopes and pre-construction and follow the project through implementation. This role also works with the development team to identify the scope and value of the project, remains part of the project team, works closely with the project managers and superintendents during the bid phase and construction phase. The Construction Estimator is the go-to for answers to questions and supporting the construction process. This is a fully remote position.

Construction Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Provides detailed cost estimates for Architectural Building Systems, Windows, Doors, Roofs, Internal Finishes; as well as Parking Lots and other exterior improvements., for projects from $500k to $50M.
  • Leverages relationships with contractors and vendors as needed to ensure cost estimates and equipment lead times are accurate. When necessary, assists in soliciting pricing from equipment suppliers and subcontractors when necessary
  • During project development, advises sales and project development team on cost implications of various options.
  • During design, develops iterative cost estimates based on the increasing level of detail in design documents; advises the design team on cost implications of design options; attends design meetings to extract information needed for accurate cost estimating.
  • Assists with identifying value engineering opportunities and cost saving construction methods and procedures.
  • Assists in bid review analysis to ensure complete and accurate scope coverage; participates in interviews with contractors and evaluation of change orders.
  • Maintain various pricing spreadsheets, forms, and other tools.
  • Assist in preparation of Bid/RFQ/RFP packages

Construction Estimator Qualifications:

  • 7 years of construction experience estimating projects. Experience with K12 project is preferred.
  • Experience with all types of construction projects, including ground-up, renovations, additions, repairs, tenant improvements, etc.
  • CEP, PCEA, and other certifications supporting expertise in estimating are desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel is required. Proficient in Smartsheet and Bluebeam is preferred.
  • Experience with Oncenter, FastPipe, FastDuct, McCormick, and ProEst.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and team members is required.
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting plans and blueprints.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and strong organizational skills are critical.

Physical Requirements (only listed on job roles that require something out of the normal office roles)

  • Ability to lift 20-pound tool and equipment bags.
  • Ability to safety climb ladders and move over uneven terrain as necessary to access facility equipment.
