The CSPD Instrument Technician adheres to the protocols in Decontamination, Processing, and Sterilization. Understanding Sterile Processing infection control process and policies as they pertain to instrument and equipment maintenance, the CSPD Instrument Technician’s responsibilities include thorough cleaning of instruments and equipment to ensure the absence of any bioburden, as well as inspecting, function testing, and assembling items for High Level Disinfection or Sterilization.
Maintaining accurate documentation through instrument tracking systems is a key aspect of the role.
