SIPS Consults is Hiring a CSPD Instrument Specialist Near Chapel Hill, NC
The CSPD Instrument Specialist adheres to the protocols in Decontamination, Processing, and Sterilization. Understanding Sterile Processing infection control process and policies as they pertain to instrument and equipment maintenance, the CSPD Instrument Specialist's responsibilities include thorough cleaning of instruments and equipment to ensure the absence of any bio-burden, as well as inspecting, function testing, and assembling items for High Level Disinfection or Sterilization. Maintaining accurate documentation through instrument tracking systems is a key aspect of the role.
The primary mission is to build a cohesive team, improve existing processes and customer satisfaction. Technicians will identify improvement opportunities in organizational structure, business procedures and staff education that can provide operational, financial, and quality improvements to Sterile Processing. This position will work with the Administration and the Sterile Processing Management team(s) to implement improvement opportunities. The Instrument Specialist (s) will be working directly with the Client and will report to and support the designated facility Director(s) while working cohesively with the SPD staff.
Technician will undertake the collection, review and analysis of data that includes, but not limited to:
Management Guidance / Mentoring & Process Improvement
Implement tools to effectively perform day-to-day operations.
Manage Coach and Mentor direct client Staff
Evaluate current processes and implement Process Improvement Initiative
Instrumentation
Identify standardization and utilization opportunities.
Efficiencies in Sterile Processing
Instrument storage and handling
On time tray delivery
Condition and accuracy of instrument sets and instrument set lists
Compliance with sterilization, infection control, quality, and regulatory requirements
Space utilization
Processing volume/activity validation
Inventory management
Productivity indicators
Quality Assurance Programs
Review Policies and Procedures
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
Physically relocate instruments and place into final locations.
Provide count of inventory item, quantity, and location via Excel Spreadsheet
Identification of inventory (item and qty) needed to achieve established par levels
