Job Title: Distillery Operations Manager

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Distillery Operations Manager. This role requires expertise in understanding and navigating the intricate rules and regulations set forth by the MLCC (Michigan Liquor Control Commission) and TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau). The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of reporting requirements for Beer, Wine, and Spirits, as well as the ability to read and interpret approved formulas, blend products, and oversee bottling processes. Additionally, this role involves managing inventory, maintaining equipment, procuring raw materials, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Understand and ensure adherence to MLCC and TTB rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with reporting procedures to the TTB for Beer, Wine, and Spirits.
  • Ability to submit formulas for approval and obtain COLAs (Certificates of Label Approval) for Beer, Wine, and Spirits.

Production Oversight:

  • Read and interpret approved formulas for production.
  • Oversee blending processes to maintain product consistency and quality.
  • Manage bottling operations efficiently and effectively.

Inventory Management:

  • Responsible for the inventory management of finished goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure adequate stock.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed to minimize downtime.

Procurement:

  • Source and procure raw materials including beer, wine, various spirits, flavorings, ingredients, bottles, labels, etc.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and pricing.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a distillery or beverage manufacturing environment preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of MLCC and TTB regulations.
  • Strong understanding of formula submission and COLA processes.
  • Familiar with FORMULAS Online and COLAs Online.
  • Previous experience with blending of spirits and formulas.
  • Proven ability to manage inventory and production schedules.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
  • Experience with NetSuite / Crafted ERP preferred.
  • Previous experience with TTB reported preferred.
