Hospital CPT & Clinic Coding Specialist

Full Time - Open to In-Person, Hybrid or Remote

Reports to Business Office Manager and Manager of Medical Records

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs medical coding and billing functions of the physician clinic to help ensure accurate documentation and billing practices resulting in accurate and timely reimbursement for services provided. Also performs outpatient hospital coding services.

ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm. More flexibility for Hybrid/Remote.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Reviews documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Compares submitted charges against documentation
• Analyzes visits to ensure labs performed are billed appropriately
• Tracks and charges provider services provided in the hospital and nursing homes
• Reviews & completes diagnosis coding of hospital outpatient visits
• Ensure appropriateness of charges for hospital outpatient visits
• Resolves coding edits as they present during coding process or in the case of denials
• Follows insurance billing rules
