As the only A School in South Dakota, Eugene Field A Elementary views the arts as fundamental to teaching and learning.

A stands for arts academics and, at our school, we strive to provide a creative culture in which curriculum is taught through collaboration and multi-discipline integration.

As a result, the arts are continuously woven into every child’s learning experience.

Arts classes are vital in providing students with enriched learning experiences and staff with additional collaboration opportunities.

We invite you to consider joining us in this vibrant learning community as our new K-5 Vocal Music and Drama Teacher. Your schedule provides a dedicated time to meet with each classroom for a music class and drama class each week.

You will also have a dedicated collaboration time to meet with the arts team as well as collaboration with the grade-level teams to create arts-integrated learning opportunities.

Throughout the year, you will have the opportunity to showcase learning from your Music and Drama classes through Fall and Spring vocal concerts and a Spring Musical.

Classroom Teacher

This position requires a South Dakota teaching certification with either the Elementary Music Education or K-12 Vocal Music Education endorsements.

Interested in becoming a contract teacher but don't hold a traditional teaching degree?

The South Dakota Department of Education offers an Alternative Certification program! Individuals will take 15-credits plus praxis exams while they perform their duties as a contract teacher for a South Dakota school district.

Alternative Certification is available for most positions 5th grade through high school. Candidates must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree, unless pursuing a CTE Instructor position.

If you are interested in pursuing a teaching position under Alternative Certification, you MUST obtain your Alternative Preliminary Certificate BEFORE applying for teaching position.
