POSITION SUMMARY
We’re looking for an analytically minded, detail-oriented, self-starter to be our Finance Manager. This person will assist with strategy development and support financial decision-making across the organization. The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial health of the company’s existing ventures and assessing the financial viability of future ventures.
This person will be a critical member of our tight-knit management team, providing an analytical perspective to key operational decisions. The Finance Manager will work closely with the other management team members (including Operations, Business Development, Culinary, Service, Wine, Hospitality, Events, and Farm) to help the management team understand their financial data and use this data to make fast, informed decisions that are aimed toward improving profitability and align with the overall strategic direction of the company. They will assist with developing and maintaining forward-looking financial models and using the results to inform our strategic direction, running analyses to inform fast-paced decision-making, assisting with the creation of investor-facing materials, collaborating with operations team members to create financially viable business models for new ventures, and more.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage financial operations of our companies
- Develop and maintain detailed monthly financial projections and budgets for all entities
- Run analyses comparing actual financial performance to projections
- Work with management team to help them understand the financial performance of their departments and develop KPI targets for improvement within their department
- Work with operations management team to delivery key insights on financial performance and make operational adjustments to achieve desired financial results
- Assist with investor-facing materials including annual reports, and investment opportunity summaries
- Develop detail annual strategic plan in collaboration with management team and review with leadership
- Work closely with accounting and operations team to create operating procedures that ensure data accuracy and integrity for analyses
- Assess future business initiatives through a financial lens
- Closely manage company cash flows
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or Statistics; MBA and/or CPA a plus
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a strategic finance or consulting role
- Analytical thinker who has worked with large datasets and is an expert in financial modeling and analysis
- Demonstrated experience in identifying strategic financial insights, setting corresponding operational targets, and proven ability to achieve and/or beat those targets
- Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team and lead a diverse group of individuals
- Experience leading implementation of systems and passion for building and improving systems
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
- Action-oriented and self-motivated, with an ability to work with limited information when necessary
- Exceptional problem-solving skills; solution-finder with demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
- Excellent project management skills
- Comfortable getting your hands dirty – it is important to spend time immersed in our operations!
- Restaurant experience strongly preferred
- Pride in what you do and a desire to constantly improve
