Sinclair Broadcast Group is Hiring a Video Editor Near Seattle, WA

KOMO-TV is looking for a dynamic video news editor. We edit with Avid Media Composer. Candidates need to be able to meet tight deadlines. KOMO airs 9.5 hours of live local content each weekday. You will be responsible for editing all forms of news content including packages. We are looking for someone who can tell a story and connect with the audience over multiple platforms. The position is for an AM shift Video Editor.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Editing video for daily news coverage, special projects, and sweep period pieces
  • Taking in news feeds from news bureaus and various news organizations
  • Collaborating with anchors, reporters, and producers on video elements of newscasts
  • Meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • College degree or minimum one (1) year relative experience in the field
  • Knowledge of nonlinear editing technology and Avid Media Composer editing is a definite plus
  • Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment

The hourly compensation range for this role is $28.65 to $41.42. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
