Description
Mid-size Chicago-based Insurance Defense firm has an immediate opening for a trial attorney in our Chicago office. Admission to practice in Illinois is required. Our firm's expertise is diverse, but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, general and professional liability. We approach litigation as a team, offering a level of customer service, flexibility and responsiveness not often found in larger firms.
This position will require independent decision-making and the ability to co-direct case strategy. Candidate must be ready and able to handle the full range of case work, from case inception through trial, including but not limited to factual investigation, discovery and depositions, complex motion practice including dispositive motions and pre-trial motions, and participation in civil jury trials. Candidate must possess the ability to multi-task and work in an organized and efficient manner. Candidate must also have excellent analytical and critical reasoning skills, possess the ability to think on their feet and respond strategically and have a client focused mentality. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

2. Draft and respond to discovery.
3. Conduct and lead depositions.
4. Draft and review motions.

6. Attend court hearings and trials.
7. Advanced knowledge of state and federal court procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• 3-6 years trial experience.
• Admitted to practice in Illinois.
• Experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial.
• Capable of independent work.
• Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to analyze complex matters.
