Position Purpose: Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Substance Use IOP therapist is responsible for providing psychotherapy treatment services that affirm clients’ strengths, broaden their problem-solving abilities, and increase their self knowledge.
Caregiver will be responsible for ensuring appropriate documentation is completed, which is a requirement for billing and coding. The caregiver will serve as a mentor and coach to newer staff and current, Master-level students. Candidates must have, clinical insight, and comfort/experience working with individuals Key Job Activities: • Conduct psychotherapeutic and other clinical treatment sessions for individuals, families, and groups • Complete all required case records and statistical reporting documentation within specified time frames • Must be able to provide direct service for 70% of working hours • Facilitate consultations and outreach to ensure the provisions of holistic treatment • Ongoing monitoring of treatment plan service delivery as it relates to the internal service provider • Evaluation for suicide, violence, case management needs with knowledge of associated risk factors and a state, federal, local community, financial, social and service resources. • Advocate patients and families in utilizing resources and services • Mentor to the patient while assisting with learning healthy aspects of interpersonal social skills, hygiene and grooming along with teamwork in social settings • Provide therapy based on an identified theoretical model and evidence-based practices including Illness management and Recovery, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. • Ability to lead family or group psychotherapy in the following: crisis, family, substance use disorders and clinical supervision while being culturally sensitive to patients with multiple diagnoses. • Screenings/assessments for substance use disorders, consultation/outreach for SUD services, discharge planning, referrals specific to SUD, and patient education/training in Naloxone. • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience: • Master’s in social work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Marital Family Therapy or related behavioral health program that remains a license eligible degree • Two years’ experience working in substance use sinaichicago.org • Clinic and formal training in identified styles of therapy
• Experience working as a mentor and coach working with students, peers and leadership • Must be willing to attend ongoing community resource development Knowledge and Skills: • Experience Preferred in EPIC and MEDITECH software systems • Exceptional interpersonal skills • High level of clinical insight • Attention to detail to attend monthly staff meetings, clinical case staffing, and designed in-service sessions • Time management
• Knowledge and familiarity with various agencies providing services in the community • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required • Culturally competent Certifications/Licenses: • Valid Driver’s License • LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC or CADC • CADC required with 2 years of substance use experience Workplace Conditions: PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk or hear • The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch • The employee is occasionally required to stand • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus WORK ENVIRONMENT: • General office environment and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
