Your role at Simtra BioPharma Solutions:

The Sr. Manager, Commercial Business Management oversees a team of Project Managers who manage ongoing commercial programs at Simtra, leading their team in deployment of the Simtra client service model and ensuring achievement of business commitments to customers. The Manager drives the achievement of the site business plan through managing client forecasts, ensuring contract enforcement, balancing between service recovery and profitability and capturing program scope changes and new work requests appropriately. The Manager drives the client business review process and experience by developing and supporting processes that ensure timely and accurate delivery of information. The Manager works directly with Sales team in the expansion of the customer relationship. The Manager ensures operating principles are developed and deployed for each customer and that metrics and key milestones are tracked, analyzed, and used for improvement opportunities. This position is also responsible for deploying key service model initiatives to the organization and functional partners supporting the building of the service brand within Simtra. This manager will staff, manage, and develop a team of project managers who will directly report to this position. The Sr. Manager, Commercial Business Management is a member of the Bloomington Business Management leadership team, reporting to the Director of Business Management.

What you’ll do:

  • Leads key Client Experience initiatives and ensures customer loyalty through consistent delivery of customer commitments.
  • Accountable for compliance of commercial Project Managers (PMs) with Project Management (PM) standards.
  • Establishes and maintains strong customer relationships in alignment with Sales & Operations (S&OP) process, contract enforcement and Joint Customer Management. With the sales team, manage further expansion of the customer relationship.
  • Responsible for S&OP forecast accuracy, invoicing and accounts receivable.
  • Manages the company’s client portfolio through the Demand Forecast Process of the S&OP.
  • Mentors and coaches members of the Commercial Business Management team. Drives performance improvement and development of Project Managers.
  • Works with Project Managers to monitor cost, schedule, and performance of projects, while working to ensure the ultimate success of commercial programs.
  • Accountable for overall commercial project performance as measured by on-time delivery, forecast accuracy, billing and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) metrics.
  • Communicates with Company and Customer executives regarding the status of the projects and/or portfolio.
  • Participates in contract negotiations.
  • Sponsors Department improvement projects.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience of project management and customer account management experience. Pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to use enterprise software (examples include: JDE, BPLM, Pilgrim, Trackwise, etc.)
  • Must be well versed in Project Management tools and must possess knowledge of related disciplines

Physical / Safety Requirements:

  • Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends.
  • Position requires sitting for long hours, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
  • Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required
