As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the Regional Warehouse Manager in all aspects of the warehouse, ensuring work completed efficiently and effectively throughout the Shipping and Receiving departments.

The selected candidate for this role will be a hands on 'working supervisor.' You will have overall responsibility of satellite employees, ensuring that we execute quality shipments, within a safe working environment, and meeting output expectations of customer needs and profitability targets.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Complete shipments using ERP system and / or tablet. Pull, package, and palletize products for shipment. Ensure incoming and outgoing shipments meet packaging, customer, and quality standards.

Receive, stock, and rotate product. Identify, tag, store and locate finished inventory. (30%)

Lead, develop, motivate, train, and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems.

Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. Consistently exemplify the highest of safety standards and monitor others to the same standards.

Ensure that all Simpson policies and procedures are adhered to by all teammates with the support of regional warehouse manager and regional HR team.

Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Have a presence in the warehouse to assist and guide employees with daily tasks. (25%)

Review and edit employee timecards, review and approve time of requests, collaborate with cross functional departments to meet organizational goals.

Monitor workflow processes while looking for improvement opportunities. Analyze data, such as SAP productivity reports, errors, and schedules, daily and make recommendations for improvement accordingly.

Ensure critical functions are maintained such as, but not limited to : PGIs completed, proper cycle counts, batch management, and audits of various processes.

Create reports, spreadsheets and presentations. (20%)

Help in developing continuous improvement culture. Develop, modify, and manage training as needed and manage Lean program.

Coordinate the organization of work within the department by attending performance meetings, analyzing of daily department results, collaborating with other departments to resolve issues, correspond with internal and external customers as needed, manage scheduling of personnel to meet demand. (10%)

Manage and develop the warehouse and production layouts to align to current volumes creating optimal flow. Facilitate warehouse clean up, ensuring a safe clean environment at all times.

Annual participation in inventories and conduct daily scheduled cycle counts. Maintain equipment per the PM schedule and schedule repairs when needed.

Schedule outbound shipments in accordance to set truckload schedules. Release customer orders for shipment. Collaborate with freight lines and common carriers. (10%)

Additional projects and responsibilities assigned as needed. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or technical school certificate in business preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehouse and logistics required
  • Managing others required experience minimum 1-3 years.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively mentor and develop team, required experience minimum 1-3 years.
  • Problem Solving : Experience in quantitative analysis by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solution options to problems required.

Ability to identify the information needed to solve a problem effectively.

  • Self-Management : The ability to monitor / assess your own performance and others' to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • The ability to effectively use Word, Excel, and Outlook to carry out work (intermediate level).
  • Communication : Ability to use language that is appropriate to the audience, occasion and purpose. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Decision Making and Judgment : Ability to find solutions that are acceptable to diverse groups with conflicting interests and needs and to think and act quickly.
  • Coaching and Mentoring : Ability to create an environment that allows staff to feel motivated to work and interact.
  • Dependability : Ability to fulfill all commitments made to peers, coworkers and supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level is loud. The job may risk exposure to dust, heat and or cold, wet or humid conditions.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires 10% domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is located in Oxnard, CA.

Relocation is not available for this position.

$68,500 - $109,600 / year
