The Product Manager, Business Systems reports to theDirector of Financial Systems and fills a key role on the Financial Systems team at SimpliSafe. You will spearhead initiatives that transform how G&A and Customer Experience teams work. The role will own creating an internal systems roadmap that is tied to process improvement initiatives prioritized by the business. As part of your responsibilities, you will also coordinate with Engineering on cross-functional initiatives.You will focus on delivering experiences that set up our thousands of customers for success and partner with our amazing operational teams to drive SimpliSafe along the top and bottom line.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Work with stakeholders and senior leaders to plan a Business Systems roadmap, keeping in mind the complexity, scale, and growth of the SimpliSafe customer base
  • Prioritize the roadmap based on company and departmental KPIs
  • Work with a cross-functional team of Business Systems admins and engineering teams on/offshore to plan sprints, write user stories, and test features
  • Dig into challenging bugs and leverage product metrics to inform stakeholders and plan your product roadmap
  • Work closely with leadership to help define a long term vision and roadmap for complex customer needs
  • Drive and influence changes to operations and processes, both internally and externally 
  • Proposes efficient, effective and practical solutions to business problems
  • Ensures that proposed processes, products, and/or services effectively integrate with or replace existing processes, products, and/or services to achieve an improved result
  • Works with technical staff during development stage to answer questions, provide guidance for business logic and ensure project understanding
  • Provide training to end-users on new systems or processes, ensuring a smooth transition and adoption.
  • Establish project plans and drive execution to completion
  • Adheres to team standards regarding the Project Delivery Process

What You’ll Bring

  • 5 years of hands-on product management skills and experience operationalizing internal processes 
  • Strong understanding of Zuora, Avalara, and related systems
  • Ability to drive stakeholders and leaders to decisions
  • Track record of execution excellence
  • General familiarity with APIs,microservice architecture, and working in an Agile software development environment
  • Strong analytical, communication, risk management, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of system development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Proven ability in driving roadmaps and leading through influence
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, billing systems, and other business applications. 
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL, MS Suite (especially Excel), and reporting platforms like Tableau
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is a plus.
