The Inside Sales and Estimating participate in the cost estimation of requests for quotes for which Simoneau Sterling submits bids, both those associated with parts and technical services solutions. In addition, he/she contributes to internal sales by ensuring that various customer requests are met.

More specifically, he/she is responsible for:

  • Receive and respond to opportunities from clients regarding internal sales;
  • Read, interpret and analyze project plans and specifications provided by engineering and/or the client;
  • Prepare quotes, proposals and cost breakdown of materials, labor, equipment, work schedule, etc., and coordinate all relevant documentation in accordance with client request/requirements;
  • Seek price data from subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Carry out all relevant follow-ups with various stakeholders;
  • Occasionally visit clients to validate the information to be included in bids and proposals;
  • Support the team members involved in external sales with regards to estimates and bids, support technicians with estimates for repairs;
  • Make outbound calls on new customers, communicate leads to Management and Sales Director;
  • Collaborate and support other projects within the sales team at the request of the Management;
  • Provide superior customer service support.

The talent we are looking for will have the profile corresponding to:

Technical Skills:

  • Relevant technical training in mechanical engineering, building mechanics, estimating technology, industrial mechanics and/or other related field;
  • Demonstrated skill set in Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Experience in technical sales will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of plumbing, hot water and steam heating equipment, boilers and pressure vessels (asset);

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, resourcefulness and initiative;
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Good negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to coordinate several projects at one time and to work under pressure;
  • Administrative rigor and accuracy;
  • Customer service oriented;
  • Commitment to the company.
