STS Brokerage Carrier/Procurement Representative

The Carrier/Procurement Representative will ensure that services sold are delivered effectively and efficiently to our customers by our hired carriers. As a Carrier/Procurement Representative, you will utilize Mcleod software to complete assigned tasks while communicating with carriers, shippers, receivers, and customers on a daily basis. Responsibilities:

• Accountable for dispatching and assigning Carriers based on Carrier location, client demands, and service requirements. Be able to quickly move to an alternate Carrier when business conditions (lane, price, breakdowns or quality) dictate change.
• Accountable for tracking and tracing all outbound and some inbound deliveries and resolving service issues and failures.
• Respond to daily inquiries made by customer and/or vendor in relation to product movement, providing ETAs or managing a load search. Track & dispatch shipments.
• Onboarding new carriers - setup, insurance and safety verifications of prospective drivers.
• Ongoing monitoring of the safety, insurance and availability and building relations of existing Carriers.
• For freight moves, research alternatives with multiple Carriers and negotiate the best service for the customer.
• Resolve transportation issues with professionalism and urgency.
• Serves effectively as a team member and supporting the Sales Representative’s customers, and the entire team.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

• Strong background in sales support and customer service.
• Ability to build strong relationships with carriers and customers.
• Ability to follow company policy and understand any rules or regulations governing the work being completed and impact work has on department or company.
• Must have very good knowledge of technology to include computers and software programs such as MS Office or MAC word processing, spreadsheets, or other programs specific to the job to complete duties successfully.
• Requires good knowledge of multiple functions or areas of the business in which there is frequent contact while completing daily work assignments of the job.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Requires very good organizational skills (detail oriented) sufficient to accomplish work by established deadlines and ability to coordinate phases of work with others.
• Knowledge of same day logistics including carrier alternatives, pricing, and potential problems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,500.00 - $52,500.00 per year
