The Clinical instructor will prepare students for the clinical experience through an orientation to policies and procedures, conduct a review with students of prerequisites for individual clinical rotations, and become acquainted with faculty requirements for clinical site experiences. (Each student will have the clinical requirements practice reviewed, as well as prerequisite coursework completed, prior to entry into the clinical workplace).

The Clinical instructor will make known to students in writing and online, the goals and requirements of each course, the nature of the course content and the methods of evaluation to be employed. A clear understanding of the legal liability of the preceptor/clinical instructor role and the purpose of clinical seminar will be reviewed with the students during the first synchronous session and in the course syllabus. Students will apply, synthesize and evaluate content from nursing theory and sciences in the clinical practice setting. Students will work with patients from across the life span.

Clinical Instructors must have a minimum of a BSN with 5 years of experience or an MSN or be matriculated in a Masters in Nursing program.
