Overview
Lead the development and direction of SBA’s new STEAM Lab which will open in the 2024-2025 school year
Create an updated vision and direction for the integration of SBA’s K-12 STEAM program
Create a learning environment that is conducive to integrated experiential, collaborative, innovative, and technology-rich learning experiences.
Develop a plan for K-12 students to use the SBA STEAM Lab to enhance their learning experiences
Collaborate on the purchase of additional curriculum and equipment for the STEAM Lab
Plan and coordinate all STEAM related educational activities, including curriculum development and instruction, the purchasing and planned use of tools and resources, professional development, and projects for SBA
Lead professional development in the area of STEAM and work with the faculty and staff to solidify a cross-curricular level of teaching that changes their practice as educators resulting in the educational program at SBA emphasizing:
Innovative, problem-solving, project-based learning, and creating a learning environment that will provide students with a wider range of avenues to learn and express themselves
Have a technology background, be a creative thinker, be a self-starter, and possess a strong understanding of who SBA is and the types of students we serve.
Responsibilities
Continue to develop and plan a dynamic STEAM program at SBA
Utilize SBA current curriculum to assist faculty in integrating STEAM across the curriculum.
Plan and implement both in-house and external professional development opportunities in STEAM for faculty/staff
Manage resources and serve as an instructional staff person for faculty/staff STEAM programming
Research and recommend the purchase of appropriate STEAM tools and resources for classroom use
Implement STEAM-related software programs in the classroom with a staff education component as relates to the STEAM curriculum
Monitor school STEAM data to determine trends and in turn develop and implement the most effective strategies for meeting and exceeding state and national student achievement goals
Assist in the development of a proposed annual budget relating to curriculum development and instructional material needs
Assist in reviewing and evaluating results of testing programs and recommend appropriate modifications to the STEAM curriculum
Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Teach classes as needed which can be developed by the Director
Research, recommend, and attend the most effective conferences, workshops, and summits pertaining to STEAM
Be willing to seek leadership positions within STEM/STEAM professional circles in order to create a sphere of influence for SBA
Lead school thematic STEAM nights (1-per semester)

Must have strong undergraduate aptitude in Mathematics or Science (Engineering)
Ability to organize programs, personnel, and activities required for productive learning in the school
Ability to relate to a wide variety of people and to observe, listen, motivate, and provide leadership which results in the best environment
Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
Ability to manage financial, material, and human resources effectively
Proven ability to make recommendations on various topics, detailed, controversial, simple, or complex
Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
Must be skilled in collaborative leadership of individuals and groups
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Has a full understanding and is in agreement with the Statement of Faith of Silverdale Baptist Academy and has a strong commitment to school philosophy

Additional Job Information
Willingness to sponsor extra-curricular activities/clubs or be able to coach an athletic team.
Willingness to obtain an ACSI certification.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Master’s Degree preferred
