We are currently seeking a Hospice Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the Dallas area who shares our passion for providing dignified, compassionate end-of-life care. This person will be covering the Dallas/Forth Wortharea.

Shift Schedule: PRN/Per Diem, Weekday Evenings and Weekends on-call hours as needed

The non-negotiables: 

  • Must have a valid Licensed Vocational/Practical Nursing license within this state
  • Must have at least one year of working experience as a LVN/LPN
  • Hospice experience preferred, but not required
  • Must have evidence of CPR training
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable transportation, and willingness to drive to patient’s location 

What you will be doing: 

  • Demonstrated competency in performance of skilled nursing functions
  • Ability to work with dying patients and their families
  • Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Hospice field nurse provides skilled nursing and palliative care for assigned Hospice patients. He/she works cooperatively with the other members of the Interdisciplinary Hospice Team
  • The Hospice nurse provides intermittent visits or shifts of skilled nursing care, performs prescribed medical treatments, including pain management and symptom control, provides nursing observations, provides teaching regarding the expected course of the disease, care techniques and other health measures to the patient, family or other primary caregiver, and participates in the care plan development and implementation
  • Performs all related duties as assigned
