PURPOSE:

The Primary purpose of this position is to assist Silver State Schools Credit Union to live out its Mission, "Excellent Member Service and Financial Solutions - For Life," by providing outstanding service and experience to both members and internal members. Develop a highly effective team of employees to their highest potential through coaching and leadership. Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this service is to identify the financial needs of the member and recommend an appropriate credit union solution.

  • Train and supervise branch staff. Assign, direct, coordinate and review work performed by staff.
  • Maintains a highly motivated, well-trained staff maintaining effective employee relations.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the overall management of the credit union's branch network. Deliver a superior member experience by leading the credit union's sales and service culture to focus on Member Service and the delivery of our products and services, while administering/facilitating operational process improvements. Manage expenses and operations, drive growth and profitability; administer employee development to meet financial goals while ensuring operational activities meet all rules, regulations and credit union policies/ procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Strategically direct activities of the retail (sales and operations), in accordance with Credit Union policies and objectives. Set priorities and effectively delegate tasks to all Branch Managers.
  • Partner with all credit union departments; focusing on building relationships with peers to achieve Excellent Member Service through all channels.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Experience Officer to establish both short-term and long-range strategic objectives; including establishing and managing an annual budget for retail sales and operations. Ensures that budgeted goals are achieved and cost objectives are met.
  • Provides recommendations or changes in existing policies and objectives; ensures compliance with and implementation of changing rules, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Through coaching, mentoring, and employee development, the VP will elevate the branch talent to a high-performing member-centric team with outstanding relationship building skills.
  • Have a complete understanding of the lending process, procedures and policies of the credit union and assist in the training of the managers.
  • Oversee functions in branches; including equipment, staffing, training, and internal control compliance. Optimize operational processes that best support the growing retail business and membership needs.
  • Maintain regular contact with Branch Managers, providing support, input, feedback and guidance concerning their daily operations and sales initiatives.
  • Assess the service effectiveness of the branches on an ongoing basis and develop strategies to generate feedback and new ideas to aid in increasing service effectiveness and product sales.
  • Participate on and lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of projects, promotions, new products, and program development.
  • Monitors branch performance throughout the year; establishes monthly sales goals for deposit, loan, and ancillary products while initiating action plans to achieve the goals.
  • Develops/Maintains a consultative sale and service program that is centered around effective member interactions, discovery of member needs, and matching of solutions with those needs.
  • Establish minimum expectations and performance metrics/scorecards to hold employees accountable for their performance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field; 8 years progressive experience in the financial services industry; and 5 years in an upper management level position implementing sales, service and branch operations or combination or training and experience. In-depth understanding of branch operations including consumer lending, sales and service initiatives, and problem resolution.
