Silver Star Protection Group Holdings is an Illinois licensed security agency that consists of a team of professional security experts who provide business owners with the optimum level of protection for their high-risk, high-value assets. This position for the company Silver Star Technology, which is a subset of Silver Star Protection Group Holdings. Silver Star Technology is looking to bring a new Installation Technician to the team. Candidates will be determined to be qualified for a Installation Technician I, Installation Technician II, or Installation Technician III position. Pay is dependent on which position the candidate is best suited for and prior experience. 

Job Duties

• Installing, servicing, low-voltage wiring, termination, and repair of security cameras, motion detectors, glass breaks, panic buttons, card readers, mag locks, and E-strikes
• Reading and interpreting blueprints/designs, overlays, drawings, manuals, and project plans
• Installation and programming of NVR’s, surge protectors, POE switches, and UPS
• Utilize remote monitoring and access controls
• Utilize NVRs, surge protectors, and POE switches
• Work with networks devices such as routers, modems, switches, and hubs
• Installation of IP cameras
• Run and terminate network cable
• Work with Team Lead to wire all devices to correct locations
• Communicates with project manager, team lead and peers to resolve issues, concerns, and answer questions related to the job as required
• Clearly communicates with project manager and team lead any variation from scope of work and/or assignment
• Troubleshoot service issues while problem solving collaboratively 
• Other duties as assigned by management staff

Requirements

•  1-5 years’ experience wiring and installing camera security equipment
• Knowledge of remote technical support applications for cameras, alarms, and access control systems
• Ability to read and interpret overlays, complex drawings, blueprints, plans, and job specs
• Strong attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Must be able to work nights/weekends, and to travel in/out of state and overnight on projects
• Must be able to work a full time, flexible schedule with on call availability (on a rotating basis), and must be able to travel on short notice
• Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, and above ceilings, etc.
• Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Use vision abilities including: close up, distance, peripheral, depth, and color
• Will be required to obtain valid PERC within 30 days of hire
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current driver’s license and dependable transportation
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
• Compensation based upon experience
