Position Summary:
The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for supporting the Life Enrichment Coordinator in planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities and programs for residents in our assisted living facility. The primary goal is to enhance the overall well-being, social interaction, and quality of life for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Activity Planning and Implementation:
- Collaborate with the Life Enrichment Coordinator to develop a diverse and stimulating activity calendar.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating a variety of activities, including games, arts and crafts, music, outings, and educational programs.
2. Resident Engagement:
- Build positive relationships with residents and encourage their active participation in scheduled activities.
- Identify individual preferences, needs, and abilities to tailor activities to residents' interests.
3. Event Coordination:
- Assist in coordinating special events, celebrations, and themed parties for residents.
- Ensure that events are well-planned, executed, and enjoyable for all participants.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities.
- Report any changes in resident behavior or preferences to the Life Enrichment Coordinator.
5. Communication:
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming activities and encourage participation.
- Provide clear instructions and assistance during activities to ensure a positive and inclusive experience for all residents.
6. Safety and Well-being:
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of residents during all activities.
- Be familiar with and adhere to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about current trends in senior activities and wellness.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge in the field.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in recreational therapy, gerontology, or related fields is a plus.
- Previous experience working with seniors or in a similar role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for planning and implementing engaging activities.
- Ability to adapt activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of residents.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying light to moderate equipment or supplies.
- Comfortable assisting residents with mobility challenges during activities.
Working Conditions:
- The position may involve evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays to accommodate scheduled activities and events.

Pay: $21.35 - $21.95 per hour
