SUMMMARY OF POSITION:
•Demonstrates knowledge of special education laws and district policies and procedures.
•Collaborate/ Participate in the development of initial and annual IEPs as it relates tobehavior, functions of behavior, and behavior intervention support planning.
•Train and assist the school psychology department in the development of behaviorintervention plans through the functional behavior assessment process during the initialevaluation process.
•Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), write legallydefensible effective behavioral analysis reports, and develop Behavior Intervention Plans(BIP) for students who have an established IEP.
•Develop behavior intervention plans with positive interventions and analyze behaviorfrom a functional perspective; monitor the plans in the educational setting.
•Conduct classroom observations to assess program needs and make recommendations forinstruction and training.
•Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and develop consultation relationships withgeneral and special education service providers; work with a variety of service providersand agencies.
•Effectively present complex information on behavior, behavioral assessment,development of behavioral plans, and implementation of behavior plans to staff.
•Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate and determine if a student meets theeligibility criteria for an Individualized Education Plan.
•Assist school psychology department in conducting Autism Spectrum DisorderEvaluations and Emotional Disability Evaluations.

LICENSE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education required, Master’s Degree or higher in Special
Education preferred.
● Experience working with students who have intense behavioral challenges and Autism.
● Preferred experience in training staff in positive behavioral supports and the development
of FBAs and BIPs.
● Ability to work with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and provide support
and professional learning for staff who work with such students.
● Ability to facilitate special education teachers to establish an academic
instructional/learning environment while teaching/reinforcing appropriate behavior.
