GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Mitigation and Vulnerability SME Level III will support an Operations & Maintenance team as a part of a large, complex cybersecurity, engineering and PMO contract for a federal customer.

The Mitigation and Vulnerability SME Level III will be responsible for coordinating and streamlining the vulnerability management program. The candidate will also engage directly with various operational teams ensuring vulnerabilities are detected, prioritized, and remediation/mitigation actions are executed. The successful candidate will play a key role in operational reporting & metrics capability, ultimately ensuring the federal organization being supported can adequately be measured towards compliance to the standard set for enterprise vulnerability management.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven, possess the inherent interest to continue learning new technologies to solve problems and have a collaborative and continual improvement mindset in all facets of the role.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Resolving IT hardware and software issues
  • Repairing network servers, routers/switches and other miscellaneous network devices and server applications.
  • Resolving application issues
  • Providing overall support with any IT-related outage
  • Prepares and directly supports the overall environment for monthly vulnerability mitigation and patching
  • Experience with managing ServiceNow tickets
  • Resolves printer, copier, and VoIP issues
  • Basic troubleshooting and repair of workstations, peripherals, network cabling, applications network operating system
  • Issue resolution with Outlook and email, remote access (Cisco)
  • Workstation moves or new installations
  • New account creation: active coordination with submitter for correct documentation completion and active coordination with approvers
  • Enabling printer access and troubleshooting printer and printing issues.
  • Deploy IT hardware and software
  • Image laptops and desktops.
  • Opening and closing S&T IT trouble tickets and managing status locally.
  • Monitoring ServiceNow queues for open/pending tickets.
  • Providing desk side support to onsite customers
  • Close collaboration with other functional teams across the organization
  • Inventorying IT hardware and software
  • Tracking the full life cycle (plan, acquire, use, maintain and dispose) of IT assets (hardware and software)
  • Close collaboration with the Certificate and License team:
  • Keeps IT equipment and IT services running including troubleshooting and fixing IT enterprise issues such as Microsoft operating system, active directory, server, and hardware issues such as workstations, servers, and
  • Performs SQL/Database administration support including performing software and patch update on Microsoft SQL clustered servers.
  • Performs and maintains SQL/Database scripting, database management including database normalization, and supporting SQL and Database administration functions such as MS SQL and scripts such as Power Script used to create custom
  • Responsible for installing, deploying, and managing Microsoft enterprise services software such as Active Directory, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DCHP), Domain Name System (DNS), and file and print
  • Supports Microsoft service management and monitoring tools such as SCOM and SCSM. Works in Microsoft client/server platforms, networking impacts on SCCM architecture, scripting (PowerShell), creating and deploying operating system images for Windows servers and workstation customized to organizational/operational and security
  • Manages and responsible for software/patch management tools such as MECM at the enterprise level. POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • 15 years performing O&M Systems Engineering work
  • ONE of the following certifications:
    • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ900) OR
    • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CCP) OR
    • Microsoft M365 Fundamentals certification
