Position Title: Classroom Teacher – 3rd or 4th grade

Qualifications: Must hold proper certification through the Arkansas

Department of Education

Reports to: Principal/Assistant Principal

Terms of Employment: 190 days with benefits according to Siloam Springs School

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Plan and prepare lessons aligned with instructional standards
• Participate in the professional learning community process and collaborate productively with colleagues.
• Assess accomplishments of students and provide progress reports as required
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
• Implement literacy instruction aligned to the Science of Reading
• Implement Math instruction aligned to Quest
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Create positive educational climate for students
• Establish classroom behavior expectations and procedures
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Effectively implement district initiatives
• Refer students for alternative services as provided by the district (ESL, Special Education, G/T, etc)
• Participate in curriculum review and design
• Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations
• Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation
• Serve on committees as assigned
