Position Description:

SIL International is a faith-based nonprofit organization that works alongside ethnolinguistic communities around the world as they discover how language development addresses the challenging areas of their daily lives—social, cultural, political, economic and spiritual.

We are looking for a Cleaner to take care of our facilities and carry out cleaning and maintenance duties. The goal is to keep our buildings in a clean and orderly condition.

Assist in cleaning responsibilities to maintain sanitary standards. Must learn proper use of equipment and chemicals to avoid harming floors, fixtures, and themselves.

Position Responsibilities:

- Ability to read English preferred. Must be able to lift 40 pounds safely.

- Job responsibilities will require bending over, lifting, walking, standing, and physical activity.

- Must be able to see clearly.

- Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.)

- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities

- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects

- Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs

- Make adjustments and minor repairs

- Stock and maintain supply rooms

- Cooperate with the rest of the staff

- Follow all health and safety regulations

Skills:

- Proven working experience as a cleaner

- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery

- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Education:

High school degree (required)'
