The General Worker – Printing Press Assistant will help keep the presses running by organizing and stacking freshly printed items as they come off the press.

You'll be part of a team, working on all aspects of the printing process. We are looking for individuals with a desire to move up and learn a trade.

Press or manufacturing experience a plus but not required.

This position is entry-level with paid training. Beginning pay starts at $17.00 per hour with opportunities for daily/weekly overtime. We promote from within the company, and there are opportunities for rapid advancement. We have employees that have been with our company for over 30 years.

Signature Graphics is a locally-owned, full-service commercial printer with direct mail advertising and graphic design businesses located in Portland, Oregon and Spokane, Washington with a total of approximately 170 employees. Since opening in 1984, Signature has become one of the largest printers in the Pacific Northwest.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Takes daily direction from Press Lead Operator for daily instructions
• Reads and familiarizes oneself with the job ticket and the skid tags
• Sets out proper skids and proper cardboard
• Removes printed papers from printing press
• Flexes stacks of papers between hands and jogs into square alignment
• Stacks into precise alignment on pallet for removal to another area
• Cleans and maintains delivery equipment following daily/weekly schedules
• Complies with all safety requirements
• Notifies Press Lead Operator immediately of any problems relating to the equipment or its operation

Compensation: Non-exempt (hourly) wage; starting pay is currently $17.00 per hour daily overtime, with opportunity for advancement

• Must have a basic proficiency in English
• Must be able to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Must be physically able to stand and move up to 11.5 hours each shift
• Must regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds

Day Shift is 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Other duties as assigned including quality control and cleaning of work area.

Day shift, with overtime sometimes required to support production deadlines and unanticipated events.
