The Product Technical Support Specialist works closely with Product Managers to ensure product information is accurate and on track with new product gate processes and with Quote Analysts to provide ERP support for custom items. This individual also manages the product questions queue, providing product information to the customer care and sales team.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Support new product development: gather and manage new incoming product, note issues with incoming product, assemble, and collect product specifications, and disperse product to proper team members for market introduction.
  • Create Item numbers for incoming new and product additions.
  • Create Assembly BOMs for incoming new and product additions.
  • Create barcodes for incoming new and product additions.
  • Work closely and maintain a strong line of communication with the product managers and quote analysts to provide accurate and timely responses regarding specific product information.
  • Act as go-to person for product inquiries. Manage the daily Product Questions inbox. Reply to inquiries without unnecessary delay (maximum response time allotted is two hours)
  • Support integration project initiatives including but not limited to PIM (Product Information Management), ERP, product technical info, and custom quoting item number data management and creation.
  • Translate/develop/update comparison charts, FAQ’s and other methods that improve the database of product information. (e.g., Test Grid and Test Strip Wizard)
  • Enter product information into PIM and ensure data transfers correctly to customer-facing “production” website.
  • Manage clearance items within both website and PIM.
  • Assist in company collateral proofing.
  • Participate in weekly ECO (Engineering Change Order) meetings. Champion changes to product and hold accountable stakeholders to complete ECO.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What will you bring to the table (Skills/Experience Required):

  • Effective communicator
  • High School diploma or equivalent, college degree is a plus.
  • 1 year experience as a project coordinator or customer care representative
  • Previous experience with company product line is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, intermediate knowledge of excel spreadsheets and data manipulation/organization.
  • Well-versed in the individual department’s primary functions and process’

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a moderate noise level.
