We are looking for a Project Estimator in Milwaukee, WI. The Project Estimator is responsible for assessing the customer’s Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) and providing manufacturing solutions and pricing that gives Sign Effectz a driven advantage. The Estimator serves as a business partner to the sales, operations, and project management teams to ensure financial sustainability of product offerings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The principal responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develops a cost matrix through company supplied information
  • Prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements.
  • Gather information to produce Operating and Labor costs associated with all projects of Sign Effectz, Inc for updating pricing matrix.
  • Communicate with members of the company to verify company costs on all products and services.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

The principal duties of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Prepares sign manufacturing work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Identifies the process to be used for fabrication and installation of each project.
  • Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
  • Estimates are prepared and distributed within the 3-day time limit.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience and a proven track record in producing accurate estimates.
  • Must have the skills and knowledge to keep all lines of communication between all of the departments of Sign Effectz, Inc.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with employees of varying education levels.
  • The sense of sight, speech (English), and hearing are required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The physical requirements are stressful although part of the time will be spent sitting. Walking, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending, and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers
  • Must be a highly organized person who can monitor multiple projects at once.

PREFERRED

  • A two (2) year College Degree, or five (5) years hands on experience with computer hardware and software.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a position directly overseeing sign & construction projects with revenues of similar dollars or larger.
  • Experience working with ECI JobBoss2 job shop software for manufacturing

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic
  • Previous construction related work experience
  • Possess strong technical writing, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once
  • Ability to work with others and build positive relationships
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

WORKING CONDITIONS

The majority of the time (90%) will be spent in an office environment. Additional time may be spent in the field or on project sites.

The normal workday will be from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. However, the hours may be long when specific projects are due, thus extended schedules will be necessary. This is a key management position and may attend scheduled management meetings before or after normal working hours.

Pay: From $47,000.00 per year
